Superpower: Providing superhuman support for breastfeeding mothers.
As a globally respected breastfeeding expert, an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), frequent media commentator, and author of the book, Latch: A Handbook for Breastfeeding with Confidence at Every Stage, Robin Kaplan works tirelessly to empower mothers on their breastfeeding journey and give them the confidence they deserve.
Robin works with MommaWork clients to provide the support and tools needed to maximize the physical and emotional benefits of breastfeeding. Robin has years of experience preparing breastfeeding/pumping parents for a confident and smooth transition back to work through her private consultations and her online video, Breastfeeding for the Working Parent. Inspired by her own positive experience with a lactation consultant, she has become an established voice in the parenting world known equally for her knowledge about lactation, and her commitment to supporting breastfeeding parents without judgment. This a keystone philosophy of the San Diego Breastfeeding Center, which she founded in 2009.
Robin completed her lactation consultant training and certification at the University of California, San Diego. Intimately familiar with all things children and family, she also holds a Masters in Education from UCLA, a multiple-subjects teacher credential from UCLA, and a BA in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis. Prior to working in the health field, she was an elementary school teacher and a museum educator at the San Diego Museum of Art.
Robin currently resides in San Diego with her two sons, and their two dogs.
